The Hybrid Vehicle Maintenance Course is designed to provide participants with the necessary skills to maintain hybrid vehicles and to know the concepts of engineering of hybrid and electric vehicles and the applications related to hybrid systems such as types of batteries and engines. The participants will also be provided with practical and applied skills in specialized laboratories and workshops. Participants will be empowered with the working principle of internal combustion engines and the operating principles of auxiliary systems inside hybrid vehicles (ignition system and fuel system), in addition to enabling them to use different types of gearboxes (regular gear, automatic, CVT) and knowledge of their parts and maintenance work procedures. This course will provide you with a broad technical knowledge and practical expertise of hybrid and electric vehicle (HEV) technologies, analysis, design, component selection and sizing at both system and vehicle level.

Course Objectives

Introduce the trainee to the term hybrid cars.

Introduce the trainee to the principles and basics of hybrid car.

Introduce the trainee to the main parts of the hybrid cars and its mechanism of operation.

Introduce the trainee to the types of hybrid cars.

Introduce the trainee to the steps of public safety while dealing with hybrid cars.

Provide the trainee with the knowledge of the global systems of examination and diagnosis related to the environment and monitoring the effectiveness of performance (OBD2).

Introduce the trainee to the most important sensors added to hybrid cars.

Introduce the trainee to the electronic control unit , inverter, the high-voltage battery and motor generator.

Our courses provide students with the fundamental skills and knowledge to perform service, maintenance, and HV system repairs on today’s hybrid vehicles. The coursework provides advanced knowledge and hands-on labs in the design, analysis, control, calibration, and operating characteristics of HEVs. A hybrid electric vehicle cannot be plugged in to charge the battery. Instead, the battery is charged through regenerative braking and by the internal combustion engine.
