Danbury is nicknamed “Hat City” is a city in Fairfield Country, Connecticut, United States. It is situated approximately 55 miles northeast of Danbury Car Service New York City. At the 2010 census, Danbury’s population was 80,893. It’s nicknamed “Hat City” because, for the time of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, it was the center of the American hat industry. When the city itself was named for Danbury in Essex, England, the mineral danburite was named. It is the home of Danbury Municipal Airport, Danbury Hospital, Danbury Fair Mall, and the Western Connecticut State University.
