Diploma in Information Technology is a Diploma level Information Technology course. Information Technology is the acquisition, processing, storage and dissemination of vocal, pictorial, textual and numerical information by a microelectronics-based combination of computing and telecommunications.Diploma in Information Technology is a Diploma level Information Technology course. In India, the various institute provides this course but its duration (regarding this course duration is one year) is not same which differs place to place. Regarding minimum time to complete the diploma is also not same. This diploma course may also be offered by some certain institutes on a part-time basis and its syllabus is divided into three semesters.The ICTE is to provide knowledge and Technical competence in Informatics and the field of Information Technology (IT) or to the student who wants to pursue further studies in computing fields.Directors have decided not to recruit / enrol any new students in the Diploma of Information Technology course, effective 20th September 2019. This decision does not affect currently enrolled students, since units within their course will continue to be available for them to study and graduate, and the Diploma will be in a “teach out” study mode over the next two years.The Diploma of Information Technology (DIT) ) lays foundations in computing, computer hardware and architecture, web and multimedia technologies, operating systems and database technologies. It is delivered as a hands-on practical experience and learning course with different computer technologies, in both individual and collaborative modes. It also provides appropriate entry points for employment in the IT industry or entry into the second year of a relevant Bachelor course.
