A human resource (HR) administrator manages an organization or industry’s employees by handling recruiting and orientation, facilitating training, and administering payroll and benefits. This position was once called personnel manager.HR administrators conduct orientations for new employees at all levels to deliver information about benefit plans and enrollment provisions. HR administrators process monthly billings from insurance providers and communicate with and counsel employees and dependents as needed. They resolve employee complaints concerning health and benefit plans and handle enrollments and terminations in health plans. HR administrators also process documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate records and payroll deductions. They work closely with executive management to ensure personnel needs are met and plan for any future alterations. Coordinating with executives, HR administrators may recruit, interview and evaluate candidates for hiring.This course addresses sourcing, recruiting, and selecting high-quality talent and placement of the right talent with the correct qualifications for jobs in an organization. The course starts by defining recruiting and its importance to an organization. The second section examines factors that affect strategic decisions about recruiting, such as assigning responsibility for carrying out recruiting, establishing the employment brand, determining the optimal mix of core and flexible workers, and considering diversity. The final section describes how to evaluate an organization’s recruiting success, the predictors to use when selecting applicants, the steps of the selection process, and different types of selection testing.

Professionals working in the human resources departments of companies are responsible for several key processes that have a direct impact on the overall success of a business. Professionals also coordinate the workforce, resolve and mediate conflicts, facilitate ongoing training, coach and advise mid-level managers and upper-tier executives, manage payroll and benefits and coordinate disciplinary procedures when warranted.
The HR Recruiting Process
A human resources recruiter is the professional in charge of filling vacancies in a company. This position involves communicating with internal executives and managers, assessing staffing needs and then recruiting and interacting with candidates to fill the vacancies. Recruiters may attend career fairs to interact with potential candidates. They also screen resumes, set up interviews, check references and conduct the first interview a candidate has with a company to eliminate undesirable candidates. The recruiter will then recommend candidates for subsequent interviews with other managers and executives in a company.
HR training involves various processes. Initial training of newly hired employees is one responsibility of HR professionals, and this training provides instruction to teach employees how to perform new jobs. Continuing training and education is also a responsibility of HR professionals, and this training involves helping employees learn new skills that they will use immediately or in the future. Some continuing education is mandated by local and state governments. In this case, HR training programs will make sure that employees perform the required number of hours.
