MOFA Attested One Year Civil Engineering Diploma for KSA, UAE, KSA,Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain O

Thecurriculum has a strong foundation in the natural sciences, mathematics andapplied mechanics. From the second year of study, students are introduced tocourses in structural engineering and materials, water engineering (hydraulicsand water quality), geotechnical engineering, and urban engineering, includingtransportation. In the final year, the two major courses of Design Project andResearch Report allow students to integrate their knowledge and developadvanced problem-solving skills. Professional aspects are covered bycourses in communication and civil engineering practice.

The courses of study leading tothe Degree of B.Sc. Civil Engineering have been planned to offer a broadspectrum of Civil Engineering subjects. The curriculum lays emphasis onsubjects of structures, irrigation, geotechnical, transportation engineering, environmental engineering and hydraulics. These courses include laboratory anddesign work. Civil Engineering is the art of directing the great sources ofpower in nature for the use and welfare of mankind. It applies the engineeringpractice to the planning, design, construction, management, operation andmaintenance of such works as buildings, roads, bridges, railways, factories, airports, canals, docks, harbors, sea defense, river control, water supply, sewerage disposal etc. Being the oldest and yet the most wide-rangingdiscipline, the department of Civil Engineering is one of the largestdepartments of the University. Apart from admissions underregular scheme, a substantial number of students is also admitted onSelf-Finance basis. The department provides Civil Engineering education, whichis based on the requirements and needs of engineering industry where thegraduates will work as Professional Civil Engineers. Theory classes indifferent subjects are supported by tutorials, audio-visual aids and laboratorywork for which adequate facilities already exist. In addition to undergraduateprogram, Department of Civil Engineering also offers three separate programs ofmasters in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering & ConstructionEngineering and Management in the evening. In these programs postgraduatestudents are being trained to face new challenges of the field. These programscomprise of three terms of course work (24 CH) followed by 8 credit hoursresearch work as compulsory requirement to the award of the degree. Theprescribed syllabi and examination standards compare favorably with thestandard of under-graduate work developed in UK, USA and Canada. In addition to course work, thefinal year students are required to work on a project under the guidance of asenior faculty members. Study tours and extension lectures are also arranged duringthe session for the benefit of the students. Second or third year studentsduring their summer break and final year students after passing the finalexamination in Civil Engineering may work with some recognized organizations, registered with PEC or government department or semi-government department toacquire practical training of 800 hours for award of degree. The Department ofCivil Engineering offers a post-graduate programme with specialization instructural engineering, water resources engineering, environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering and earthquakeengineering.

A candidate shall completeapproved courses of a value not less than 576 credits and shall comply with theprescribed curriculum requirements (which may exceed 576). Note: The corecourses listed below, plus one elective course of 16 or more credits, constitute the courses recognized for the degree in terms of RuleFB8.2. DP and examination requirements to pass the core courses areset out in the course information sheets issued at the start of all CivilEngineering core courses. Civil Engineering covers the broad areas ofstructural, transportation, geotechnical, municipal, hydro technical, structural, materials and project engineering.

The program is designed in such away that students are exposed to all areas of civil engineering during thesecond and third years of the program. During this time, the students arerequired to take courses that introduce the fundamental concepts in all of theprogram areas. In the final year, students have the opportunity to selectelectives that allow some degree of specialization. However, students arestrongly encouraged to select electives that will provide them with abroad-based technical background. Project/design courses are provided in two ofthe three upper years. These courses are designed to give students experiencein solving open-ended problems and in working in partnership with industry. Allundergraduate students admitted to the College of Engineering are required tocomplete a common first-year of undeclared studies (known as the first-yearcommon core). Once the first-year common core program has been completed, undergraduate students declare their preferences and compete for admission intoan upper-year program. Students who are successful in securing admission intoan upper-year program are required to follow the program of study that isprescribed at the time of their admission into the upper-year program.

We are glad to inform you that now we areoffering this diploma course in Distance Learning mode of studies.
