The course provides knowledge of optical fiber waveguide at fundamental level, essentials of an optical fiber communication system and understanding of various components of an optical fiber telecommunication system.A 35-hour training program with both the theory and practical aspects of fiber optic cable in the areas of communication and data transmission are covered.Designed for individuals who wish to increase their knowledge and gain hands-on skills in fiber optics technology in preparation for writing the Fiber Optics Association exam. The course has two components: a theory component, and a hands-on component where emphasis is placed on the practical aspects of working with fiber optic cables, including connectorization, fusion splicing and testing.This course highlights the advantages of having fiber optic cables and how this has lead to daily leaps forward in the telecommunication industry. In addition to this, you will explore the advancement in such diverse areas as medicine, mechanics, and plumbing, in which fiber optics has made an immense impact.The Fiber Optics Training is designed for anyone interested in learning basic fiber optic networking and becoming a Certified Fiber Optic Technician. This course also introduces the students to industry standards governing FTTD (Fiber to the Desk), FTTH (Fiber to the Home, LAN/WAN fiber networks, and basic fusion and mechanical splicing. Supplemental hands-on sessions will include a multimode OSP cable. This program explores the history and future of fiber optics and fiber optics capabilities. This study will include both mechanical and fusion splicing techniques along with the actual OTDR trace sessions.
